Kyung mi Lee (Seoul,1978) owes her cello training mainly to Francesco Strano(I MUSICI) and  graduated summa cum lauda at the Conservatory Santa Cecilia in Rome in 2002.
In 2005 she graduated at the Academy of Santa Cecilia, with full marks.
She has attended Master classes headed by Enrico Dindo, Enrico Bronzi, Alain Meunier as well  as chamber music courses under the guidance of Trio di Trieste and Emanuel Ax.
She won 1st Prize at the “Stravinskj competition”, “Anemos International competition”, “MusiAtri competition” and 2nd Prize at the “Luigi Nono Chamber Music competition”.
During the years 2003-2005 she was I cello-solista in the World Youth Orchestra, while in 2006-2008 she performed as Principal and co-principal cello in the “Orchestra di Roma e del Lazio”.
Since 2003 she was a member of  Trio di Roma”; she has played in this ensemble for four years and had the chance to debut at Damasco Opera House (Syria) and to perform L. Van Beethoven Triple Concerto for violin, cello, piano and orchestra.
In 2007 she became one of the artists promoted by the Italian National Committee for Music (CIDIM), as cellist of Fortuna Piano Trio, together with the violinist Markus Placci and the pianist Michelangelo Carbonara. They performed in Europe and in South America (Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay). In spring of 2010 a recording for Nascor-Ysaye Records including J. Brahms and F. Schubert trios will be released.
In 2002 She performed together with M. Rostropovich during the celebration of Michelangelo Antonioni’s ninetieth birthday at the “Parco della Musica” Auditorium in Rome.
She recorded, as soloist and chamber musician, soundtracks by Paolo Vivaldi and Leandro Piccioni for RAI tv series;  as a member of “Pessoa Quartet” she recorded music by  Dimitri Nicolau and Astor Piazzolla.
She was invited in the role of “special solo guest” to play for the Hollywood independent movie “The truth about angels” soundtrack composed by Enrico Sabena.
She collaborates, for recordings or live concerts, with many eminent soundtracks composers such as Ennio Morricone, Nicola Piovani, Riz Ortolani, Luis Bacalov etc.
Kyung mi Lee plays a prestigious instrument endorsed by SAMSUNG for her artistic merits.
